Refund policy

We want you to be confident in your purchase. The 30-day free trial exists precisely so you can evaluate Karl before paying. This page describes when and how we offer refunds for paid licences.
1. Who handles your refund
Paid purchases of Karl licences are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle is the seller on the invoice and the party that processed your payment. As such, Paddle is also the party that actually issues refunds.
We work with Paddle to approve refund requests under this policy. To request a refund you can contact us first at contact@karl-ai.se (we will then approve the refund with Paddle), or contact Paddle directly using the buyer-support form at paddle.com/support.
2. Our refund commitment
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for paid Karl licences. If, within fourteen (14) calendar days of your purchase, you decide Karl is not a fit for you, contact us and we will refund the full amount you paid (minus any non-refundable transaction fees that may apply under mandatory law of your jurisdiction).
We may decline a refund request if we reasonably suspect abuse, for example if the same purchaser repeatedly buys and refunds licences, or if the licence has been shared or used in a manner that materially exceeds normal evaluation usage.
3. EU consumer right of withdrawal
If you bought a Karl licence as a consumer (i.e. not for purposes related to your trade, business, craft, or profession) and you are resident in the EU/EEA, you have a statutory right of withdrawal of fourteen (14) days under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, in addition to the commitment in Section 2.
Important: the licence file we deliver is digital content supplied immediately on purchase. By completing checkout and consenting to immediate delivery you acknowledge that you lose the statutory right of withdrawal once the licence file has been delivered to you, in accordance with Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU. Our voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee under Section 2 continues to apply regardless of this loss of statutory right.
4. Business buyers
If you bought as a business (B2B) the statutory consumer right of withdrawal does not apply, but the voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee in Section 2 does.
5. Renewals
Karl licences are not on auto-renewing subscriptions by default. If you do enter into a recurring or renewing arrangement with us in the future, the relevant order confirmation will state any specific refund or cancellation terms for that arrangement, which will take precedence over this Section.
6. How to request a refund
- Email contact@karl-ai.se from the email address you used at checkout.
- Include your Paddle order number (it is on your receipt email) and a short reason for the refund. The reason is optional but it helps us improve Karl.
- We will acknowledge your request within two (2) business days and approve the refund with Paddle if it qualifies under this policy. Paddle will then return the funds to the original payment method, typically within five (5) to ten (10) business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- We will revoke the refunded licence. Please uninstall Karl or revert to a trial / unlicensed installation after the refund is issued.
7. Chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Chargebacks impose fees and disputes we'd rather spend on improving Karl. Almost every legitimate refund request can be resolved more quickly by email under this policy.
8. Taxes
VAT, GST, sales tax, and any similar taxes collected by Paddle at checkout are refunded together with the licence fee in the same refund transaction, in accordance with Paddle's standard process.
9. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any statutory right that you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
